Proactiv Solution

I need to post about this specific product because I am impressed that it does work. It is called Proactiv. (Yes, it is spelled correctly) If you use the three basics on your face, twice a day...the Renewing Cleanser which has a mild abrasive so you get a scrub from it, the Revitalizing Toner closes pores and then finally, the Repairing Treatment which is a mild benzoyl peroxide which dries the skin a little too much for me. I am in process of finding a day (think I found this one) and night cream to help rehydrate my skin since I tend to be more dry than oily.

My mother and sister have talked about this product for years but I did not think I needed it. The part that works is where the product kills bacteria on the skin and prevents blackheads and pimples...that is the amazing part. So.....my mom bought the 5 piece kit as a gift for me ($60)and I use all of it as directed. I expect this kit to last for months. Twice a day for about one week I got results immediately for mild acne and this was over two weeks ago now. My face is so smooth and clear that I find myself caressing my forehead because it is as smooth as a baby's skin! In the past, acne type treatments were too harsh but this is mild enough and effective enough that I think this is what I will use from now on. I am now stepping down to once per day, at night for the full treatment...it takes minutes..not time consuming and will see if that will maintain my clear skin. With once a day use, I should save some money too. I do not yet know how expensive it will be to replace things in the kit. My sister uses the more affordable Nutragena Acne Stress (I think that is it) and she gets similar results to Proactiv so I may have to move over to that one.
