Mommy, Teach Me! Preschool Fun

Thank you friend Mandi for mentioning this book, Mommy, Teach Me! I needed something new with purpose, for W2 to do while schooling G5 and this has helped him and the teacher too. ;-) This is one activity called basting and it is quite serious work as you see (bib still attached from breakfast):

The idea is to work from left to right (pre-reading skill) and pull water in baster then, transfer to bowl on right. Will work for Thanksgiving turkey!
If he spills, he uses a sponge to clean up but he does not like to spill. He has a strong sense of order at this tender age. I love it! Now, more learning fun...
I can always count on W2 for kitchen help, when the mood strikes him. We love the Learning Tower which makes him safe and tall and, a pretty strong and conscientious cheese shredder.

And, on his own, when G5 is working with markers, whatever, glue, etc. and paper, W2 gets going on his own...this is number 2 in his "God" series. That is what he calls it. Actually, there is a lot of variety in line quality, color and the arrangement uses the whole page and even goes off the page. I see these as strong qualities for a creative thinker. Maybe this child is more artsy like mommy?
