"Best day ever!"

Friday late afternoon, was proclaimed by Gun to be "the best day ever!"
It is always interesting to listen to my children to see what really makes them tick and it is not an easy task in the busyness of our days. Stopping to really read between the lines is an art. Learning what language speaks to them the best to convey my love is so important to me. My language is not the same as my child's language so giving what I think is needed does not always secure them in the best way. This is a humbling lesson and it requires reliance on the Lord. Learning to listen and give to my son what speaks to his soul is like learning a sort of foreign language. The benefits are worth the struggle it takes for a mama (and a daddy too). The pleasure and assurance that my child receives is truly worth it. The unprovoked verbalization of his contentment is priceless.
Of course, the next day was declared the "worst day ever!" when his brother or sister took something of his...oh, the highs and lows of life.

Math lesson:

Donation of well loved but abandoned toys = Pick one new toy + Popcorn dinner = Three loved children.
