My marriage needs a lift all the time. Mostly, my attitude needs a lift. Here is some outdated but much needed for a marriage that thrives...advice.
Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a
delicious meal ready, on time for his return. This is a way of letting
him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his
needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good
meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.-Housekeeping Monthly 13 May 1955

Love it. Thanks for the little reminder!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom gave me a book from the 50's...hmmm I will have to find it. It mentioned the dinner thing. But I think the funniest thing was it said to go to the bathroom and freshen up before he gets home. Apply a fresh coat of lipstick and meet him at the door with his favorite drink. Something to that effect. Usually if I make dinner and have everything ready, he may be met by a sweaty wife in a food covered shirt. I think I am the worlds messiest cook.
